Welcome to Ramgarhia Sikh Association Woolwich

Ramgarhia Sikh Association Woolwich is a registered charity and has been serving the local community since 1967.

Our objective is the advance of the Sikh religion, in particular among the Ramgarhia Sikh Community in Woolwich and surrounding areas.

Gurdwara (the door or the gateway to the Guru) is the name given to the Sikh’s place of worship, commonly addressed as Sikh temple in the western world. The Sikh scriptures are recited or sung and sermons are delivered. Guru Granth Sahib is placed on high palanquin under a canopy in the middle of one end of the hall. As well as sermons and the singing of the scriptures, the congregation is expected to participate in the ceremonies of birth, baptism, marriage, death and celebration of festivals.

Reasons to Register Objection to Planning Application:  (members can choose any one or two from the list below)

We object on ‘road safety grounds’ to current scheme that shows vehicles including large refuse lorries existing on to Wilmount Street potentially clashing same time when long established RSA community temple and hall may be holding large public function or funeral etc.

Refuse or other large lorries existing proposed development site on Wilmount Street are too large to safely exist on to Wilmount Street I therefore oppose to the scheme.

Large refuse lorries existing the proposed development will be confronted by existing RSA boundary wall that will likely create a drivers visibility  ‘blind spot’ for pedestrians etc and thereby potential ‘public and road safety risk’ we there object to this scheme.

The proposed development scheme fails to show unregistered road bottom of Masons Hill road is being proposed to be part of the development site but not shown within development site boundary.  This application ommission is misleading so therefore I therefore object to this planning application.

RSA being a long established place for community to worship, attend weddings, funerals, education, etc – this application fails to consider acceptable noise levels both during construction works and post construction refuse lorry movements

Wishing all our followers, the Sadh Sangat and all Sikhs around the world a very Happy Vaisakhi. 🙏🏼 ...
